FAQ

What is this fundraiser for?

Your donations will be used to purchase educational books about the Japanese giant salamanders which

will be donated to local schools. Our goal is to provide at least one book to each classroom in the town

of Daisen, Tottori Prefecture. We hope to raise local awareness of the Japanese giant salamanders and

garner community support for building ramps in Daisen’s waterways to allow salamanders to access

their breeding grounds. If we exceed our goal, we’ll purchase additional books and/or fund other initiatives to help

the Japanese giant salamander, please see fundraising goal details here

How do I access the digital rewards (hydrangea tutorial video and printable PDF coloring page)?

You should receive an email after donating with a link and password to access the rewards. The digital

rewards page will be available/accessible for 90 days.

How will the postcard be shipped and when can I expect to receive it?

Your randomly-selected postcard will be sent in an envelope via letter post from Japan. It will be sent to

the billing address on the payment method you used unless you indicate otherwise during checkout. We

will mail it as soon as possible after receiving your donation.

Please note that the coronavirus has had a significant impact on global mail delivery, and Japan Post’s

mail delivery policies may change at any time. Please also note that tracking is unavailable and your

postcard may take weeks to months to arrive depending on your location. Thank you for your patience

and understanding. If you have questions about Japan Post shipping availability, please see their website here.

Due to the nature of the artwork and fundraiser, no alterations, revisions, returns, or exchanges will be accepted.

What are the parameters for a custom postcard (your photo painted as a mini watercolor)?

Your photo must be your own, and feature natural landscape scenery or townscape/cityscape. People or

animals may not be included as a main subject (meaning, no portraits). The artist reserves the right to

refuse a photo for any reason. If you are unsure as to whether your photo will qualify or not, please

contact the artist rachel@travelbugart.com in advance. Note that the artist will complete your work in

her own style, which will require some cropping, simplification of elements, and possible exclusion of

elements. (paper size approx. 14.75cmx10cm, painted area either approximately 6.5x3.5cm or 4x4cm)

Due to the nature of the artwork and fundraiser, no alterations, revisions, returns, or exchanges will
